Determining Your Navigation Version
If your vehicle is on iDrive version 4 - 8.5 our USB update packages are fully compatible with your vehicle. See below for how to select the correct version for your vehicle.
Where to find this info:
iDrive 4
Open Navigation > Press Option > Scroll down and click Navigation system version
iDrive 5
Click: Map > press the Option button > ‘Map version’
(This may be displayed as “System and version” or “Position and version”)
iDrive 6 
Click: Map > press the Option button > ‘Map version’
(This may be displayed as “System and version” or “Position and version”)
iDrive 7 
Click: Map > press the Option button > ‘Map version’
(This may be displayed as “System and version” or “Position and version”)
iDrive 8 
Click on Menu > Navigation > Settings > Update
iDrive 8.5 
Click on Menu > Navigation > Settings > Update
iDrive 9 
Map Updates are not possible for BMW Operating System 9, as this has live streaming that continuously receives live updates - Allowing BMW's with Operating System 9 to always have the most up to date map version.
