🔐What is an FSC code and why do I need it?

An FSC (Freischaltcode) is a digital activation code required by BMW to unlock software updates and features. Codes are unique to your car’s VIN.

We provide two FSC code types:

This region includes countries with full coverage such as Andorra, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK.

It also offers partial coverage for Greece and Poland, and main road coverage for countries like Albania, Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine. 

Europe (East)

This region provides full coverage for countries including Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Romania, San Marino, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and Vatican City.

Q. Will this update affect other iDrive functions?

A. No, only navigation data updates; iDrive software remains unchanged.

Q. Can one USB update multiple BMW vehicles?

A. Yes, if those cars share the same navigation version. Separate FSC codes are required for each car. You can order more FSC codes HERE

Q. Is it safe to drive while the update is installing?

A. Yes, driving is permitted the update will continue in the background.

Q. Can I turn off my car during the update?

A. You can exit the vehicle while updating, BMW systems resume progress automatically. Best to complete in one session if possible.
